Shri Bhat Memorial Trust felicitates social activists

JAMMU, Oct 19: Various Kashmiri Pandit social activists and scholars were felicitated for their role and service rendered by them in uplifting the religiously cleansed Kashmiri Pandit community during the last 25 years of exile at a commemorative function organized by Shri Bhat Memorial Trust on the 10th Foundation Day of Man Mohan Koul Charitable Trust here today.
The function was attended by a galaxy of intellectuals, social activists and prominent citizens.
Ashok Koul,organisational general secretary, BJP, was guest of honour on the occasion. He said,” tremendous work has been done by Shri Bhat Memorial Trust and Man Mohini Koul Charitable Medical Trust to uplift the Kashmiri Pandit community in the hour of desperation and despondency.”
He lauded the activists of both trusts for the services rendered by them in the field of socio-economic, educational and cultural empowerment of the religiously cleansed Kashmiri Pandit community .
Giving background of the Trust, Bihari Lal Kaul a noted educationist and Member of the Trust said Shri Bhat Memorial Trust has been actively working for imparting quality education to the displaced Kashmiri Pandit students in the Battal Ballian, Udhampur particular and other places in Jammu region in general since 1994. Trust has provided scholarship to around 600 deserving and needy students of the Kashmiri Pandit community. To enhance and enlarge the scope of the educational empowerment of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community, the Trust established Shardapeeth Rishi Model school in Batal Balian Camp, Jammu and is serving the community till date.
Ms.Reeta Koul Thukral, noted social activist representing Man Mohini Koul Chiratable Medical Trust presented a detailed report on the activities of the Trust.
Among those who were facilitated include Ms.Reeta Koul Thukral,.P.N.Raina SSP(retd) and founder Chirman of Shri Bhat Memorial Medical Trust. Devender Handoo, Principal, Mixed Higher Secondary School , Bantalab, Dr. Sushil Wattal, a noted social activist associated with Shri Bhagwan Gopinath Ashram.
The whole event was ably compared by Ex S.K.Kaul and the felicitation part was compeered by R.C.Kaul.
