Shopkeepers’ deputation meets IGP

JAMMU, Nov 30: A deputation led by Manish Gupta, general secretary, CCI called on IGP Jammu Dr SD Singh and apprised him about the problems being faced by Raghunath Chowk shopkeepers because of Observation Post installed at the Chowk besides permanent parking of police vehicles.
The deputation members alleged that Observation Post is resulting in obstacles in free flow of traffic besides giving a bad impression to tourists and pilgrims as if nothing is normal in Jammu.
The IGP gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured to look into the matter at an earliest. He issued on the spot instructions to the concerned to look into the matter and report at an earliest for the needful without compromising on security aspect.
The shopkeepers were represented by Verinder Khurana and the deputation included Vinod Mehra Rotarian,Vinod Malhotra Deputy Civil Warden besides Bhuvneshwar Gandotra President  of Jammu Heritage Society who also impressed upon IGP Jammu to ensure Heritage look of Raghunathji Chowk by removing the obstacles.
