JAMMU, Mar 5: A shopkeeper has been arrested for raping his lady employee in Sohal area, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor Police Station.
As per police sources, a lady hailing from Dhyeran area of Mishriwala lodged a complaint with Police Station Akhnoor yesterday stating that her employer identified as Ashwani Kumar, son of Fangu Ram, a resident of Sohal raped her inside his shop.
After conducting medical examination, the woman has been restored to her family members.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 40/18 under Section 376 RPC has been registered at Akhnoor Police Station and hunt has been launched to arrest the rapist.
On specific information, a team from Akhnoor Police Station conducted raids in several areas and finally arrested the rapist within 24 hours.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Shivdev Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Munish Anand and SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal.
