Shocked over Umar’s killing, DSS demands strong action

JAMMU, May 12: Shocked over the unfortunate incident of  kidnapping and killing of  unarmed young Army officer, Umar Fayaz  in South Kashmir two days back, Dogra Sadar Sabha has demanded stern action against the terrorists involved in the incident.
An  emergent meeting of the working committee of Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K was held under the chairmanship of  Gulchain Singh Charak-  president DSS and former minister. The meeting started with a serene note to pay homage to brutally martyred Lieutenant Umar Fayaz of Rajputana Rifles, six JK policemen and two JK Bank employees, Charak  said that it is tragic that the young Lieutenant has been targeted by the Hizbul-Mujahideen and even the procession carrying his body was stoned by miscreants, while a criminal terrorist shot few days earlier was offered gun salute by his criminal conspirators.
Many learned speakers offered their views in a open discussion and the meeting strongly condemned the brutalities, bloodshed and cold blooded murdered. They also condemned the criminal culture of luring children with ulterior motives and replacing their books with stones to use them as gun fodder by pushing them in front of armed troops.
The meeting reiterated that it is not possible for the poor Jammu masses to go to Kashmir for resolving their day to day problems in the Secretariat there. DSS again urged the Chief Minister to keep both winter and summer Secretariats functional round the year.
Offering its full support the meeting unanimously urged the Central Government to take strongest possible measures to reign in the situation in the Kashmir valley to put a halt to end the ongoing naked dance of death and destruction.
Members of DSS across all communal, regional affiliations strongly vowed to live united and not to allow any differences to creep up that can disturb the traditional communal harmony and respect to mutual sensitivities.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included Dr N K Dogra, PS Gupta, G A Khawaja, Col VK Sahi, Syed Amanat Ali Shah,  Dr P S Pathania,  Santosh Magotra and others.
