Shivani opens account for J&K, wins bronze medal

JAMMU, Nov 29: Shivani Charak opened the account for J&K by clinching bronze medal in Bouldering in the girls category of the 21st National Sport Climbing Championship being organized at Indian Mountaineering Found-ation New Delhi.
Earlier, Shivani and Shilpa of J&K had entered the final round by securing 3rd and  5thpositions respectively in the semi final. Whereas Shivani retained her third position, Shilpa who was going quite strong in the final had an unfortunate fall and she could not complete the event and remained medal less.
In the boys category of lead climbing competition Mrityunjay  Sharma who had entered the final round by topping the 50ft high fibre glass wall could not repeat his performance in the final round  and finished at 6th  position.
Meanwhile, Shivani and Shilpa have also entered the final round in lead climbing by securing 4th and 6th position respectively in the semifinal in the girls category.
Lead climbing competitions in the Sub Junior Boys and Girls categories along with Speed competitions in all the categories shall be conducted tomorrow.
