VIJAYPUR, Jan 23 : The residents of Shiv Nagar Colony, Vijaypur in district Samba face a lot of difficulties for bad condition of road for last 24 years which has virtually become a death trap but the authorities at the helm of affairs are sleeping over the issue.
People alleged that the condition of 600 meter long distance not completed for last 24 years ago. No politician or public representative started the work on this road. The department started earth work on this road on two times, but it was only an eye wash, they added. The BJP leaders had made a big promise to the people but it too proved hollow as concerned MLA failed to start the work of this road till date.
They said despite the issue taken with concerned authorities even to elected representatives i. e Cabinet Minister and MP but all in vain.
One Lal Chand a local person from Shiv Nagar said that this road was not fully blacktopped since constructed for last 24 years. The condition of road becomes from bad to worse during rainy season when it turns into water pools.
Pawan Kumar said that it’s very unfortunate that the road from Vijaypur to Shiv Nagar Colony is neglected and is in bad shape. “Despite repeated pleas for the black topping of the road to the concerned department, MLAs and Minister concerned we were given verbal assurances but nothing done on ground’’.
During rainy season people of this locality and school children also face a lot of problem while crossing the lane and some times they met the fatal accidents. They demanded that the work on the road be started so the people do not face any problem in future.
