JAMMU,  Nov 29: Shiv Kumar Sharma has been re-elected as president of State unit of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), a frontal organization of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee.
This will be fourth consecutive term of Mr Sharma as INTUC president for J&K. During the delegation session of  J&K State INTUC at PCC headquarters, representing 65 INTUC affiliated unions for the State, 147 delegates and 150 observers; Shiv Kumar was unanimously re-elected as president  for the next three years term.
Dr Subash Chander Sharma, All India secretary INTUC and president  Punjab State INTUC was the observer from the Central INTUC to conduct the election of J&K State INTUC chief.  All the delegates unanimously  re-elected Shiv Kumar Sharma as president of State INTUC for the term of next three years with voice vote. He was also authorised to appoint other office bearers of the State INTUC and members of the  general council.
While addressing the  delegates Dr Subash Sharma criticized the anti-labour and anti-employees policies of the Modi Govt at the Centre for bringing about changes  in the Labour Laws which are taking away all the legitimate trade union rights of the working class. He wanted the  INTUC members to remain united  and increase the strength of the Union.
Shiv Kumar Sharma  after the election extended gratitude to the delegates at the general body for holding peaceful election and appealed them to work hard as well as continuously to serve the working class and have the guidance from the executive body as and when required. He declared that other office bearers of the INTUC State unit the district units will be constituted shortly.
Prominent among those who spoke and were present  on the occasion included   Raghubir Singh Chib, RS Reen,  Amreek Singh, Jagdish Sharma, Joginder Pal, Shafqat Hussain,  DN Shah, Som Dutt Sharma, Farooq Ahmed Wagnoo, Ghulam Nabi, Raj Badyal, BP Rao, Rashpal Singh, Chain Singh, Mohd Akram Malik, SP Katoch, Ghulam Ahmed Rajput, Farooq Ahmed Kohstani, Ravi Khajuria, Manmohan Bali, Ganesh Dutt, Ashok Kumar and others.
