Shiksha Niketan celebrates Sports Day

JAMMU, Dec 5: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar Jammu celebrated its Sports Day cum Prize Distribution Function in its School premises, here today.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly was the chief guest, while Baldev Baloria, District President of BJP presided over the function.
Rameshwar Mengi , Principal of the School and other faculty In-charges presented saplings to the dignitaries as a token of gratitude.
The function started with the lighting of the divine torch by the chief guest, which was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by  the dignitaries along with Mr  Mengi and Rita Mengi, Trustee of RMPS, Ravinder Kour, Principal of RMPS, Nirmal Sharma, In-charge Jeevan Nagar, Kiran Gupta, In-charge Gandhi Nagar and Amit Gupta, In-charge Senior Secondary wing Jeevan Nagar.
An enthralling Ganesh Vandana was presented by the Students of Pushp Vatika wing of the School under the supervision of Shivalika which gave an auspicious start to the function. A series of cultural and traditional games such as Santholia, Makeover, Blind makeup, Make Pyramid, Cycling, Basketball, Ball Dropping and “Blowing out of Balloons” etc were performed by the students on the occasion.
The winners of various events were awarded prizes and gifts. The prizes were also given to the 2nd and 3rd academic position holders of all the classes from the Pre-Primary to Class 10th.
On this occasion the chief guest lauded the performance of students, staff and the management for meeting out the high Scholastic and Co- Scholastic needs of nation.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Principal of the School gave a brief description about the students who had excelled in different fields and highlighted the achievements of the Institution.
