SRINAGAR Sept 29: Sheikh Ashiq Ahmed has been elected as president while Farooq Amin as secretary general of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
Annual general meeting of the Kashmir Chamber was held at SKICC here today which was attended by about 300 members. It was followed by the elections under the supervision of Rauf Ahmed Punjabi and two other senior members, Mubeen Shah and Abdul Hamid Punjabi. The Elections Commission comprising of these three members announced the results.
Sheikh Ashiq Ahmed was declared elected as new president of the KCCI, Nasir Hamid Khan as senior vice president, Dr Abdul Majid Mir as junior vice president, Farooq Amin as secretary general, Sheikh Gowher Ali as joint secretary while Manzoor Ahmed Pakhtoon as treasurer. A 21-member executive committee was also announced during the meet.
