Shastri urges Govt to issue SRO for 7th Pay Commission

JAMMU, Mar 11: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri has appealed the State Finance Minister   to fulfill the promise of implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendation w.e.f April 1, 2018 in favor of State Govt employees and pensioners as already announced and decided by the State Govt on the floor of the House while presenting the 2018-19 Budget.
“The issuance of the notification/SRO has now become inevitable since only 20 days are left to meet the deadline for implementation of CPC that is 1-4-2018”, Shastri said this while addressing NMC workers meet at Secretary Park in Gandhi Nagar.
Shastri urged Haseeb Drabu to direct the concerned to ensure timely issuance of SRO so that the benefits of 7th Pay Commission reaches to salaried class and pensioners   as per the decision of the State Govt.
While pleading the cause of 61,000 daily rated workers, Shastri demanded a review of SRO 520 since its clauses are not workers friendly.  Decision of the State Govt is by and large worthwhile, but workers friendly approach needs to be attached while setting their long term regularization, he added.
Shastri also urged the Government to increase the medical allowance from rupees three hundred to rupees three thousand per month, enhancing the wages to rupees three hundred fifty from present rate of rupees two hundred twenty five, beside immediately release of 2 per cent installment of DA (Dearness Allowance) to the employees of the State Govt and pensioners.
Among those,   who were also present on the occasion, included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B S Jamwal, Darshan Bawa, Madan Lal, Suraj Parkash, Ram Singh, Surinder Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Ramesh Sharma and others.
