Sharma asks farmers to take benefit of latest technology

KATHUA, Oct 19: A one day awareness camp cum Kissan Mela was organized by State Kissan Advisory Board at Jatwal in Hiranagar, Constituency of Kathua district today.
The Mela was presided over by Radhay Sham Sharma, vice chairman, J&K State Kissan Advisory Board. The programme was organized under Information, Education and Communication (IEC), scheme where the farmers were introduced to the new and innovative methods of agriculture production.
The new agriculture machinery tools were also introduced to that farmers and they were told to avoid old and obsolete methods of farming and instead use new methods to increase the production. This will help in tremendous growth of the agriculture and allied sectors.
MLA Hiranagar Durga Dass, MLC Subash Gupta, secretary of the Board, G N Mir, Chief Agriculture Officer, Samba, Dr Rama Kant Sharma and other progressive farmers, Sarpanchs and Panchs spoke on the occasion.
All the wings of Agriculture Production had installed their stalls wherefrom they were demonstrating their equipments and were informing the farmers of the latest agriculture technologies and incentives available under various schemes sponsored by the Central and State Governments for the socio-economic upliftment of the farming community.
In his address Mr Sharma advised farmers to take maximum benefits of the various farmer friendly schemes launched by the State and Central Governments and use latest agriculture technologies for boosting their crop production including cash crop.
