Sham kick starts macadamization work of border roads

JAMMU, Nov 8: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today kick started macadamization work on border roads from Birpur Jattan to Korotana Khurd and Sai Khurd to BOP Tagowali to be executed at the cost of Rs. 30 lakh and Rs. 20 lakh respectively.
He asked the executing agencies to complete the work in time besides ensuring that the qualitative and quantitative parameters are maintained at all levels. “Road connectivity being lifeline for any area needs special attention and the Government has taken up various pathbreaking initiatives for providing better road network in the State with focus on rural and border areas”, he maintained.
The Minister said that it is the endeavor of present dispensation that durable assets are created for larger interest of the society. In this regard, he also emphasized the role of local masses as of utmost significance as without their cooperation and participation the real purpose of welfare and development schemes could not be met. He also appealed the people to treat the public utilities as their own and help in their proper maintenance.
Sham Choudhary, while interacting with the people on the occasion, reaffirmed Government’s resolve of extending enhanced basic amenities in every part of the state with emphasis on rural and far off pockets.
