Sham inaugurates ‘Vision-J&K’

JAMMU, Feb 23: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today inaugurated three-day workshop ‘Vision J&K’ at Talab Tillo.
Member Parliament Shamsher Singh Manhas, MLA Khour Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat and other officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
The objective of organizing the workshop is to create awareness among the youth about employment opportunities in Government and private enterprises.
While addressing the gathering, the Minister said the State Government has launched many schemes for providing employment opportunities to the youth in and outside the State. Events like these help educate and create awareness among masses especially youth about various avenues open for them to explore and exceed in, he added.
As many as 30 Government organizations and many private companies displayed their stalls at the exhibition including Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Steel Authority of India, Indian Railways, CSIR, DBT, MOES, TDB, NATMO, Rural Electrification Corporation, National Skill Development Corporation, NTPC, Spices Board, Coffee Board, NRDC, JAKEDA, PowerGrid, KVIC and Cashew Board.
The main attraction of the exhibition was the pavilion by ISRO where various models of satellites were displayed for public viewing.
The event highlighted various schemes and policies in the fields of Research and Development, Science and Technology by CSIR, NRDC, TDB and DBT and displayed several of their activities, achievements, programmes and contribution in the fields of the science and technology.
