BANIHAL, Mar 28: National Conference district president, Sajjad Shaheen today slammed the PDP-BJP Government for failing in restoring snow hit damaged infrastructure, especially road-network in interiors of the Banihal Assembly Constituency, saying vehicular movement stands disrupted for nearly two months.
In a statement, Shaheen decried the administration for failing in meeting the challenge, attributing it to lack of political direction, as the ruling political executives are least bothered about sufferings of the people. He said normal activity has come to grinding halt due to communication breakdown and the supply of essentials stands adversely hit. He particularly referred to sufferings being faced by the residents of Mahu-Mangat, who are not only deprived of rations but are without power and drinking water for most of the time.
Shaheen urged the Government to shun its anti-people approach and address to the problems of the people, which are aggravating and accumulating with each passing day. “Further failure in reaching out to the distressed areas will force people to come on the streets to press their demands”, he added.
