JAMMU, Dec 2: After holding the meeting with the conveners of various committees framed for smooth conduct of the 62nd National School Games Football Under-19 Boys Nationals, the Director Youth Services and Sports, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed said that all is set for hosting the football extravaganza successfully in the City of Temples from December 6 to December 10.
The conveners apprised the Director about the arrangements with regard to boarding and lodging, transportation, ground facilities, made for successful conduct of the event and the Director asked them to harness their energy for holding the event in a befitting manner.
The Director said that around 30 teams drawn from across the Country are expected to take part in this mega event, adding that 4 venues have been arranged to conduct the matches. The venues included MA Stadium Jammu, GGM Science College Jammu, Mini Stadium and Jammu University ground.
He asked the conveners and other responsible members to leave no stone unturned for providing extraordinary facilities to the visiting contingents.
The Director further said that such Championships apart from exploring talent at grass-root level and channelizing the energy of youth in positive direction, serve as a launching pad for bringing peace and harmony to the State through the medium of sports.
