NAGROTA, Sept 9: Saying that service of Nagrota people is his mission, National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today pledged to achieve developmental milestones as a representative of the constituency, observing challenges are numerous but determination is no less.
“Unflinching support of people has been an immense strength to knock every door to get developmental tempo moving in every sector”, Rana said while interacting with various deputations and delegations at Chibba, Thanda Pani, Marh and Sowa during his extensive visit, a part of having on-the-spot feel of problems confronting to the people.
He said his endeavour has been to ensure smooth functioning of utility services and expediting pace on various schemes so that their benefits accrue to targeted segments of population without delay.
“Delays generally negate the purpose of schemes designed for various areas, which is why our effort remains to pursue the executing agencies to have these completed in a time bound manner”, he said and assured the people that their grievances with regard to upgradation and improvement of various link and main roads damaged due to monsoon rains have been taken up with concerned. Similarly, he said, the concerned agencies have been asked to ensure regulated power and drinking water supply across the constituency by plugging all loophoes wherever existing.
Rana said he is striving for realization of the vision, nurtured by the people of Nagrota about holistic development of the constituency, being in close proximity to the Capital city, so that it emerges as a feasible extension of Greater Jammu. He said this will open up vistas of opportunities for youth in particular and give fillip to local economy.
“Nagrota constituency has a huge potential, which is needed to be harnessed optimally by rising above political considerations, if the vision of Greater Jammu is to be achieved”, he said, adding that he will continue his efforts in this regard by seeking development of the constituency as residential, sports and economic hub of Jammu. He stressed the need for futuristic planning of the constituency alongside improving the existing infrastructure like irrigation, power, drinking water, roads besides facilities like health, education and animal-care.
“The local level administration has immense responsibility to improve the living conditions of the people by attending to their day to day needs”, he said, and referred to the initiatives he has been taking to ensure synergy between various engineering departments as far as development of the constituency is concerned.
