JAMMU, Oct 22: Highly impressed by the dedication and self less service spirit of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, a senior citizen of Jammu donated a portion of his life long savings to Prime Minister’s Fund here today.
K K Gupta, a senior citizen putting up at Akhnoor road near Muthi presented a cheque of Rs 40,000 from his savings to Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State in PMO at his constituency office at Gandhi Nagar at a simple function today as a donation to Prime Minister’s Fund.
Gupta said that out of his life long savings he paid some amount to his grand children and some donated to old age homes and decided to donate a portion of it to Prime Minister’s Fund as he was highly impressed by his dedication and selfless service to nation.
Dr Jitendra Singh while receiving the cheque said this shows the commitment of Gupta for the welfare and betterment of his country. He said this way he has kept an example for others to follow showing that the national cause is of paramount importance and nation is above all. He expressed hope that the people may get inspired by this good will gesture and patriotic feelings of Gupta.
On the occasion BJP leader and constituency incharge, Sanjeev Sharma, co -incharge and BJYM national executive member Bharat Sharma and another co incharge, Divinder Wazir were also present.
