RAJOURI, Feb 22: One-day seminar on the theme “Empowering Women-Steps towards Real Development” was conducted at Government PG College Rajouri under the supervision of Prof Shabir Hussain Shah, Principal of the College.
Nayeema Ahmed Mahjoor, Chairperson of J&K State Commission for Women and Ajaz Abdullah, Secretary, J&K State Commission for Women, were the chief guest and the guest of honour on the occasion. Principal Prof S H Shah presided over the proceedings of the seminar. Apart from it, the officers from the District Administration were also present.
The seminar started with the keynote address of Dr Shafia Saleem- the Coordinator of the Women Development Cell. Student participants expressed their genuine views and highlighted many vital issues concerning the empowerment of the women.
There was an elaborate question answer round after the lecture session was over and was tackled in a convincing manner. The consolation prizes and the achievement certificates were also distributed among the participants.
