Seminar on ‘Goods & Services Tax’ for traders organized

JAMMU, Feb 25: A seminar on ‘Goods & Services Tax’ was organized today by Commercial Taxes Department, Jammu, to educate the traders on various aspects of Goods and Services Tax.
The seminar was organized under the supervision of Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, J&K and Additional Commissioner, Commercial Taxes (Administration), Jammu. Traders/businessmen of Old City, Jewel area, Canal Road, Talab Tillo and Akhnoor Road, Jammu were invited in the seminar.
The seminar commenced with the overview on the new tax regime, throwing light on the mechanisms of transparency and self policing inbuilt in this PAN India indirect tax reform. The trainers from the Commercial Taxes Department, Jammu deliberated on various provisions of the draft Act and its implications on the economy of J&K.
Power Point Presentation on registration and return process involved in Goods and Services Tax were given by the officials of the department and traders were enlightened about the various provisions of upcoming Goods and Services tax, which shall soon see the light of the day.
Earlier also, the department had organized a seminar to educate traders on Goods and Services Tax on February 22.
