Select pulses slide on low demand

 

NEW DELHI, May 19:Select pulses led by urad fell by up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale market today owing to slackened demand from retailers.

            Traders said fall in demand from retailers against ample stocks position in the market on increased supplies from growing regions mainly pulled down urad and other pulses prices.

            In the national capital, urad eased to Rs 5,300-6,500 against last close of Rs 5,600-6,750 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya were down by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,600-5,700, Rs 5,700-6,200 and Rs 6,100-6,300 per quintal, respectively.

            Moong slipped to Rs 4,600-5,000 from previous level of Rs 4,800-5,000 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, dhoya local and best quality traded lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,200- 5,400, Rs 5,800-6,300 and Rs 6,300-6,500 per quintal, respectively.

            Masoor small and bold declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,000 -4,300 and Rs 4,050-4,400 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 4,500-5,000 and Rs 4,600-5,100 per quintal.

            Malka local and best quality lost Rs 200 each at Rs 4,600 -4,800 and Rs 4,700-4,900 per quintal.

            Arhar and its dal dara too eased by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,100 and Rs 6,100-7,900 per quintal, respectively.

            Masoor small Rs 4,000-4,300, bold Rs 4,050-4,400, Dal Masoor local Rs 4,500-5,000, best quality Rs 4,600-5,100, Malka local Rs 4,600-4,800, best Rs 4,700-4,900, Moth Rs 3,250-3,650, Arhar Rs 4,100, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 6,100-7,900.

            Gram Rs 5,850-6,900, Gram dal (local) Rs 6,900-7,300, best quality Rs 7,300-7,400, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,700, Rajdhani Rs 2,700, Rajma Chitra Rs 7,500-10,300, Kabuli Gram small Rs 9,600-10,400, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,600-5,800, Peas white Rs 2,500-2,525 and green Rs 2,700-2,800.
