SEECC appeals for revocation of Edu deptt’s controversial order

JAMMU, Mar 5: School Education Employees Coordination Committee (SEECC) today appealed the Government to revoke the controversial Government Order No: 66 Education of 2017 dated 16/02/2017 regarding the written test of teachers and masters having degrees acquired through distance mode and other long pending issues.
Amar Nath Thakur, State chairman, SEECC , in his address said that a State level delegation of SEECC had recently met Education Minister, Sayeed Altaf Bhukhari, Additional Secretary, School Education and DSE Jammu in this regard and had requested to review this biased and discriminatory order, but unfortunately this demand of teachers was not considered and 388 adjustments orders of masters promoted in Feb 2014 out of total 1193 have been issued having regular mode degrees while adjustments orders of 554 masters having valid verified distance mode B Ed and PG degrees acquired through distance mode from Jammu, Kashmir and other reputed, recognized universities, have been withheld.
The meeting appealed Governor NN Vohra, the chancellor of State universities, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Pro Chancellor of State universities and Education minister to revoke this controversial, unjustified and biased order to save the future of lakhs of in services employees.
Speakers also appealed the CM to regularize through cabinet decision as was done in 1978, 1998 and 2011, all 7000 Joint Directors, CEOs, Principals, ZEOs, lecturers and headmasters working in the incharge capacity for last more than ten years.
Participants said the teaching fraternity would welcome if re-modified order is issued and made mandatory to all teachers, masters in future to pass the written test prior to their promotion as Master or +2 lecturers without making a distinction between distance mode or regular mode degrees.
Maheshwar Parshad, State president, AJKLTF, Satish Datta, State president, JKGTF, Surjit Singh, State president, Officer’s Forum, Sushma Avtar, State president, female cell, JKGTF, were present in the meeting.
