Secy Tourism chairs IHM Board of Governors’ meeting

SRINAGAR, June 23: Secretary Tourism Department, Rigzin Sampheal who is also the chairman of the Board of Governors of the Institute of Hotel Management, today chaired 37th meeting of Board of Governors of the Institute.
The Board reviewed the overall working of the Institute and inter-alia decided that henceforth the incumbents engaged as contractual faculty shall be paid a monthly remuneration of Rs 25000 and there shall be an annual increase of Rs 1000.
The Board also decided that a new programme of Entrepreneurship Development in the disciplines of Cook-Tandoor, Baker, Halwai (Indian sweets) and Multi-Skill Care taker shall be launched in the Institute as per the scheme designed by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.
The Board also decided that apart from Degree and Diploma courses, the Institute shall continue to impart training under ‘Hunar Se Rozgar Programme’, free-of-cost and the participants besides reading material, stationery shall be provided uniform by the Institute free of cost.
The Board also cleared the pending compassionate appointment case of the employee died in harness in the past.
The meeting was among others was attended by the officers of the Union Ministry of Tourism, National Council for Hotel Management NOIDA, Director Tourism Kashmir, Managing Director, JKTDC and Principal of the Institute.
