SRINAGAR: To prevent civilians from holding demonstrations and preventing security force operation against militants, District Magistrate (DM) in Baramulla has imposed restrictions under Section 144 CrPC near encounter sites.
DM, Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash in an order has imposed Section 144 of CrPC within a radius of 3 Km from any counter insurgency operation site, falling within the jurisdiction of the district. However, in case of any exigency, the local population can seek the assistance from the district administration or police, the order said.
These restrictions shall not apply to the movement of ambulances, medical staff and Government employees. This order shall remain in force for a period of 60 days. (AGENCIES)
