JAMMU, Nov 15: Army and police continued search operation in Mendhar area of Poonch and extended them to some parts of Rajouri district after the arrest of two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants from Jharan Wali Gali (JWG) on Mendhar-Surankot road yesterday.
Searches continued in Mendhar throughout the day today as there were inputs that some more militants might be hiding in the area after the arrest of their two associates, who hailed from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
However, no further arrests were made today, sources said.
Army and police also conducted searches at Bela Colony and Sarol areas of Rajouri district today after getting reports about movement of some “unwanted persons”.
No arrests were made.
Army and police had yesterday arrested two militants along with two AK rifles and ammunition from Jharan Wali Gali in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district.
