SRINAGAR: A search operation has been launched after militants and security forces exchanged fire briefly in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, official sources said here tonight.
They said security force personnel stopped a load carrier for routine checking at Lassipora in Pulwama. However, as soon as the load carrier stopped, some unidentified militants came down and fired at the security force personnel with automatic weapons.
The security forces retaliated, but the militants and driver of the load carrier managed escape under the cover of darkness. They said a massive search operation has been launched to lab the militants. (AGENCIES)
