SDP alleges traffic mess on highway

JAMMU, Feb 24: Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) leader Dr Darakhshan Andrabi has alleged traffic-mess on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway and claimed that cops deployed prefer ‘hafta-collection’ than the regulation of busy highway.
The SDP leader who today travelled on this highway along with party general secretary Ajay Sharma and others, while sharing her experience alleged that there is really traffic-mess on the highway and the Traffic cops deployed prefer ‘entry’ collection than the regulation of traffic.  Even the jam is created at the point where they stop the trucks and other passenger vehicles for this activity. She said corruption has reached alarming proportions in the department and even the innocent transport operators/ drivers, despite having all the valid documents are made to pay.
She sought the intervention of Chief Minister in this regard and said that due to poor management of traffic and increasing level of corruption, the common man, commuters and even the transport operators are suffering.
