JAMMU, Aug 11: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Akhnoor Sunaina Sharma paid surprise visit at SDH Akhnoor.
She was accompanied by Tehsildar Akhnoor Kewal Krishan Sharma, EO Municipality Akhnoor Gharu Ram and several other officials.
SDM went to several wards and enquired about the treatment and facilities from the patients. Some patients expressed unhappiness towards the facilities and services rendered by the doctors and the supporting staff.
Most of the patients complained about the non-availability of medicines in the hospital, as well as unhygienic condition of the hospital, especially the stinking toilets which were witnessed by the entire inspection team as well.
While inspecting the duty roster of the doctors, SDM found two doctors namely Dr Pankaj Gupta and Dr Taruna absent from the duty and even the BMO was not present in the hospital.
Taking strong note of such pathetic state of affairs, a comprehensive report was forwarded to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu for further necessary disciplinary action under rules in this regard.
