Scurry enquiry against erring Revenue Officials

The concerned officials of the Revenue Department cannot be called “erring” but surely “with doubtful integrity” as they were involved in illegal attestation of mutations of more than 256 kannals of State land in several villages of Nagrota tehsil. A departmental “enquiry” was announced against the wilful wrong doers nearly more than two months back but till date, nothing of the sort has taken place under J&K Civil Services (Classification , Control and Appeal) Rules 1956.
The four employees including the then Tehsildar Nagrota Rajesh Kumar considered to be a blue eyed “boy” of some high profile politicians of Jammu were suspended from service pending enquiry into their conduct of illegally attesting the mutation of “Sarkari land” in early September 2018 , the other three being Patwaries Riaz Ahmed, Faqeer Ahmed, and Arvinder Singh. They were found actively involved in making illegal entries in the Revenue records and illegally attesting mutation of hundreds of kanals of State land in Sitni, Khanpur, Jagti, Bamyal, Dung and Marh in Nagrota where the cost of land has appreciated enormously. No departmental enquiry has yet been started against them , nor have they been charge sheeted and arrested for indulging in a brazen criminal act.
The State Revenue Department is replete with corrupt practices about which we have been specifically bringing out detailed facts and urging authorities to go in for a complete overhaul of the department and purge it of the personnel suspected of indulging in corrupt practices and being of doubtful integrity. We urge the authorities to institute inquiry against all the four employees and subject them to rigours of law.
