Srinagar, Oct 19: A school in South Kashmir’s Pampore area of Pulwama district has been closed due to lack of road connectivity.
Government Primary School, Bagh Inayat-ul-Allah in Pampore is shut for last two months and now the concerned authorities have shifted the students of the school to another school that is around two kilometers away from the area.
There were 22 students studying in the school while two teachers were also posted for them. The school was functioning under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme of the Centre.
According to a local, the school was established in 2008. He said: “Government constructed the school in the open ground but there was no provision for road connectivity. Now when the locals constructed the structures around the school, there is no way to reach to the school.”
The students and teachers complained that they face difficulties while travelling to another school that is located at Meaj village. “Government should look into the matter and sort it out,” said one of the teachers.
Ironically, the local are now using the premises of the school for drying up cow dung and manure.
