Scholarship distribution function held

JAMMU, Feb 27: Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Ambphalla organized scholarship distribution function among the displaced Kashmiri Pandit students from weaker section.
On the occasion, ML Raina, Relief Commissioner was the chief guest, while KK Khosa, President of the Sabha presided over the function.
An amount of Rs 3 lakh was donated by the Kashmiri Pandit Educational Trust under the trusteeship of Ashok Koul and BL Kitchloo.
SL Bagati, general secretary of the sabha presented the welcome address and conducted the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Khosa exhorted the students to use the scholarship money only and only for educational purposes. He said that Sabha is continuously harnessing its efforts for financial assistance to the weaker and other deserving sections of the community for their educational programme. He further stressed upon the children to uphold the age old values of respecting of parents and looking after their welfare in the old age.
ML Raina implored upon the students to work hard come to triumphant in their lives. He said that education is the only tool that will help them to survive in this competitive world. He also advised the parents not to give smartphones to the children because it is proving to be a nuisance in their lives. He also advised the children to shun the practice of night reading which is contrary to natural phenomenon because early morning reading enriches us much more.
The vote of thanks was presented by GJ Kampassi, Secretary of the Sabha.
Among others present were Ashwani Koul, Vice President, Subash Dhar, Ashok Khar, Dr Usha Tickoo, Jitender Parimoo, Dr Ashok Koul, RL KOul and Shamma Handoo.
