KATHUA, Dec 5: State Cricket Academy T20 Cricket Tournament got underway, here today.
The Tournament is being organized by Sports Council J&K under the supervision of Rajesh Gill, Former Ranji Trophy Player and Member District Jammu Sports Council.
In the inauguration function, District Sports Officer Kathua, Subash Bharadwaj was the chief guest.
Earlier, in the opening match Nikhal Cricket Club Kathua defeated Hannu Club Nagri by 7 wickets. Batting first, Hannu Club Nagri collapsed at 70 runs in 15.3 overs. Pushap (26) and Udhay Veer (14) were the main contributors. Munish took 4 wickets, while Sadam took 2 wickets.
In reply, Nikhal Club chased the target in 12.3 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets.
The main scorers were Nikhal Khajuria (43) and Nikhal Sharma (12). Pushap took 2 wickets, while Romi claimed 1.
