SBI donates Rs 2.36 cr for rehab of disabled children

Srinagar, Feb 8: State Bank of India (SBI) Managing Director (National Banking Group) Rajnish Kumar along with other top bank officials today visited Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) here in Bemina and donated an amount of Rs. 2.36 crores for the rehabilitation of speech and hearing impaired and physically challenged children.
The MD spent some valuable moments with the inmates of the VMS and reiterated the SBI’s commitment for continuation of its ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’, a statement issued here by SBI said. On the occasion, the founder and president of VMS, Dr Mir Muhammad Maqbool thanked the MD SBI for the donation and appreciated the Bank’s commitment towards care and upliftment of the society.
The statement added that the VMS will organize camps in schools and in community to aware and identify and assess the persons having speech and hearing impairment further hearing Aids will be provided to beneficiaries as per their type and degree of hearing loss.
