JAMMU, Aug 26: A deputation of people from Shanti Nagar, Ram Vihar and other adjoining areas of Ward 35, Janipur, met former Minister and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) who apprised him of the problems being faced by the locals from sometime concerning damage of Deep Drains and other basic problems related to sanitation system and construction works of lanes and drains.
Taking a serious note on that, Sharma called upon the officials of JMC, UEED, ERA (Sewerage) and toured the areas along with locals and officials of department. He was also accompanied by political activists of the area as well.
Sharma also visited adjoining areas of Ward 35 as well along with the officials of concerned departments and extensively toured almost each and every lane and it was brought to his notice by the locals that there are certain areas which still have leakages of water pipes and after works were done by ERA of laying new sewerage system and water pipes, the holes were not filled properly, due to which accidents may happen.
Sharma directed the officials of UEED to cover the holes of Deep Drains with gratings and wherever required the works for construction of deep drains to be also taken up soon in order to avoid public distress. He also directed the officials of JMC to prepare estimates as soon as possible for construction works to be taken up in the area so that people could be provided with best infra at their door steps.
Sharma took serious concern of the problems and directed the officials of ERA and PHE to immediately check and stop leakages of pipes and also cover the holes so that pending works in the area can be taken up as soon as possible.
Joint Commissioner JMC (Adm) Pradeep Manhas ,State Secretary BJP and Prabhari Jammu West Praduman Singh, Ex En JMC Prabodh Sharma, Health Officer JMC Dr Saleem, Mandal president BJP Vijay Sharma, Bal Khajuria, Yash Pal Mantoo, Subash Sharma ,Master Yash Pal, Lalit Luthra and several others accompanied the MLA during the visit.
