Sat Sharma chairs HDF committee meeting at GMC, Jammu

JAMMU: Minister for Housing and Urban Development   Sat Sharma today convened a meeting of Hospital Development Fund (HDF) Committee here today.

Principal GMC, Dr. Sunanda Raina, Medical Superintendent Dr Dara Singh, Dy Medical Superintendent, Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Incharge Emergency wing Bharat Bhushan, Engineers of PHE, PDD, PWD (R&B) Mechanical, besides other senior officers of concerned department attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Sat Sharma, who is also Chairman HDF Government Medical College Jammu, took a detailed review of physical and financial achievements registered by the institution and was informed about the progress registered in various areas besides other steps underway to improve Medicare facilities in the hospital.

The meeting was informed about the progress on decisions taken in the previous meetings besides revenue generation of Rs 1.98 crore upto May 2018 under HDF.

Sat Sharma expressed the satisfaction over the improvement in overall functioning of the hospital. Responding to the needs and requirements listed in the meeting, which includes purchase of new hospital beds, repairing of old hospital furniture, landscaping and beautification of hospital lawns, installation and purchase of electric appliances and gadgets, purchase of Photostat machines, purchase and repair of lockers/ racks for attendants/ staff belongings, repair and maintenance of sanitation machines, purchase of wheel chairs for OPDs and wards, paneling of electric wires, cables wire, installation of high power lights, purchase and installation of fire extinguisher, CCTV cameras at various places in the hospital, establishment of Bio medical shed with colour coding, provision of staff bus for the staff on evening duty and others.

The Minister approved Rs 1.50 crore for smooth functioning and development of Hospital infra as proposed in the agenda. The Minister assured full cooperation to provide adequate health facilities and infrastructure to the people.

Sat Sharma emphasized that priority should be given to the quality of services being provided to the people and it should be ensured that welfare programmes are implemented in letter and spirit.
