Sat hands over scooty to differently abled youth

JAMMU, July 11: Former Minister and MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) handed over Honda Scooty to Kamal Kishore Verma a resident of Bakshi Nagar near Gita Mandir. Sharma was accompanied by officials of Social Welfare Department, local residents of the area and political activists. The scooty costing Rs 75,000 was donated by MLA from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that it is the duty of every citizen of our nation to help the differently abled persons in the society. He said that this two wheeler will give Kamal Kishore full access to move out freely without being dependent on others. Sharma lauded the efforts of the Social Welfare Department in helping people with disabilities and making them worth functioning like other members of the society. He also mentioned that there are many centre based schemes of Social Welfare that are very helpful to such persons and they should take full advantage of them.
The residents of the area also hailed the initiative of the MLA by helping the needy in every noble cause.
District Social Welfare Officer, RS Jamwal, Munish Khajuria BJYM vice president, Sourab Gupta, Dr. Rao, Sameer Vohra, Dr. Deepak Kapoor, Ankush Bakshi, Ram Lal, Amit Bakshi, Rajinder Singh and many other were present on the occasion.
