Sat distributes free gas connections

JAMMU, July 4: Former Minister and MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma distributed gas connections to the dozens of women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana.
Former Minister was also accompanied by BJP district president Jammu West, Ayodhya Gupta, State press secretary, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra and other local social and political activists during the gas distribution function held at Gurudwara, Taali Sahib, Talab Tillo.
Sat Sharma, while addressing the beneficiaries said that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has initiated numerous schemes for the benefit of the common masses who have been deprived off basic amenities of life. He said that the inefficient policies and political will shown by earlier Governments led to the development of wide gap between the rich and the poor and they kept large chunk of population under-privileged for their own selfish mottos.
Sharma also emphasized that the women form 50 percent of the total population and no society can think of surviving and advancing without ensuring women upliftment. He said that still after so many decades of the Indian independence from the British, we have witnessed our women folk in many areas using the wood in the “Chulha”. This has adversely affected the health of women folk who often become the victims of respiratory diseases.
Sat Sharma, while giving details of the today’s programme, said that more than 30 families got the benefit of the free gas connections under the scheme. He said that five lakh, twenty nine thousand and three hundred women beneficiaries have been benefitted under present Ujjawala schemes in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that now the limit of giving benefit to the needy families has been increased for meeting out the demand of every household with a vision to replace every single wooden chulha with the LPG gas stove.
Sharma said that BJP is working with a pious mission of ensuring dignified life to each and every individual irrespective of caste, region, religion or gender and BJP will ensure this. He also prompted the local political and social activists to ensure the implementation of all Centre and State sponsored Government schemes at the ground level by working extra hours.
Jeet Angral, advocate. Rajesh Gupta, Jaideep Sambyal, Veenu Khanna, Veena Gupta, Keshav Chopra, Asha Sharma, Kulbhushan Vohra, Dr. Dineshwar Sharma, Puneet Mahajan, Deepak Kumar and Yashpaul Shivgotra were also present during the distribution function.
