Sat asks people to take forward PM’s vision

JAMMU, Feb 22:  Sat Sharma, MLA Jammu West Assembly Segment and State president BJP called upon the people to take forward the Prime Minister’s Open Defecation Free India mission.
While addressing the constituency level advocacy workshop on water and sanitation at Girls Higher Secondary School Rehari Jammu, he informed the gathering that with the continuous efforts of Prime Minister, the Open Defecation Free zones have increased manifold.
The workshop was organized by National Development Foundation J&K Jammu and was sponsored by CCDU, Department of PHE I&FC J&K Government. S E PHE, Urban Circle Jammu, Ajay Wazir presented welcome address while Executive Engineer, PHE Division City First,   Himesh Manchanda presented vote of thanks. Stage was conducted by Pardeep Khanna.
Resource persons who spoke on safe water, save water and benefits of proper sanitation included Er. P.K. Nanda, former Honorary Secretary of Institute of Engineers Jammu and former Executive Engineer Hydraulics, Dr. Shahid, Incharge School Health Jammu district. Prominent among others present on the occasion included CDPO Migrant Jammu Neha Gupta, other sectoral officers and officials of PHE Department, Anganwari workers, ASHA workers, prominent citizens and others. Water of school was also tested during Field Testing kit demonstration and message of safe and save water was presented by Samooh Theatre Jammu through a Nukkad Natak. Around 400 people attended the workshop.
Rajiv Khajuria founder Emeritus National Development Foundation (ENDF) in his address covered different aspects of behavorial change with regard to water and sanitation. He also requested MLA West to take up with Jammu Municipality to bound the plot owners renting plots to migrant labourers to provide toilet facilities to migrant population as they charge for pitching juggis in their respective plots.
Sat called upon the gathering particularly students to carry forward the vision of Prime Minister. He complemented the role of National Development Foundation and CCDU for organizing programmes on such an important issue which is the dire need of the hour.
A pledge on water safety, security and sanitation was also taken and signed by guests and participants.
