JAMMU, May 29:  The members of Sanskrit Teachers Association, Jammu Kashmir, led by their president Dr Vinod Kumar Shastri, submitted a memorandum to HRD Minister Smriti Irani highlighting their grievances and demands.
In the memorandum, the Association has alleged step motherly treatment to Sanskrit in J&K where the Sanskrit students and scholars feel exploited and ignored.
“Even as Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan has the status of Deemed University, the “State Public Service Commission does not consider Acharya degree from the institution during the selection of college lecturers while in the case of ReTs, the officials of School Education Department are putting the cases of the candidates from this Deemed University into the category of Study Centres,” the memorandum says.
The Association has appealed the HRD Minister for her intervention into the matter and ensure that the Sanskrit students  and scholars may get justice.
