Samba police solves hit & run case within 10 days

SAMBA, Mar 25: District police Samba has solved a hit and run case by seizing the vehicle and arresting the accused driver within 10 days of the accident from Bishnah, in district Jammu today.
Police said one person namely Sunil Kumar, S/o Manohar Lal of Khataya Rajgarh, Chhattisgarh was killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle near Raya Morh, Vijaypur on March 15. Subsequently a case FIR No. 36/2019 U/S 279-304A RPC was registered at P/S Vijaypur and investigation was taken up on the directives of SSP, Samba Dr Koshal Sharma.
During the course of investigation, the Investigation Officer, ASI, Tarsem Lal got some vital information from the site of accident and after the enquiry from the locals it got clue of the driver and vehicle which was involved in the hit and run case. Acting on the information police succeeded in reaching to the accused person namely, Subash Chander, S/o Manga Ram resident of Alha in tehsil, Bishnah of district Jammu.
The accused driver has been arrested from Alha, Bishnah, Jammu and the ‘white Colour Verna’ car bearing registration No. JK02BM-1101 involved in the accident was also seized. Further investigation in this regard is going on.
The arrest was made by the police team of P/S Vijaypur headed by SI, Vipin Bangotra under the supervision of Inspector, Rakesh Bamba, SHO P/S Vijaypur and S. Baljeet Singh, SDPO Vijaypur.
