SAMBA, July 14: In order to curtail the activities of hardcore bovine smuggler and drug peddler Mohd. Hussain S/o Lal Hussain R/o Manohar Gopala tehsil & district Samba, who was arrested recently Samba police today slapped PSA on him.
To prevent him from indulging in prejudicial criminal activities police also lodged him in Sub-Jail Hiranagar today.
SSP Samba, Anil Magotra said he was highly prejudicial to the peace and tranquility in the area by way of his involvement in different cases of bovine smuggling and drug trafficking in different parts of district Samba.
He said a special team of P/S Samba under close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs. Samba and Inspector, Chanchal Singh, SHO P/S Samba was constituted by him and the arrest of the accused was affected.
SSP said Hussain is a hardcore criminal who is master mind behind all organized crime in the district like bovine smuggling, cattle theft, property related crimes and besides being a main supplier of drugs as it is he who introduced drugs in District Samba. He was wanted in many NDPS cases by district police Samba. A total of 11 cases have been registered against him under various heads in the district, he added.
He said for the apprehension of the accused, teams were constituted and sent so many times out of State and to Kashmir Valley but he remained successful in giving slip to police parties so many time earlier.
SSP said while moving ahead with this aim and objective to put an end to the criminal activities of the drug peddler and bovine smuggler, the police team so constituted after making hectic efforts apprehended Mohd. Hussain from Basanter area in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba. He was posing a serious threat to the health and welfare of the people in general and youth in particular and was expanding his network to ruin the future of young generation besides creating wedge between two communities by virtue of his illegal acclivities of bovine smuggling due to which the sentiments of a particular community were being hurt posing grave threat to peace and tranquility in the district. His activities could rise to any extent if he was allowed to go scot free.
Accordingly, in order to put an end to his prejudicial criminal activities, Samba Police compiled all the Police record of Hussain, prepared his dossier and got his warrant issued under Public Safety Act from Rajinder Singh Tara, the then Deputy Commissioner, Samba vide his office order No. 01 of 2018 dated 20.06.2018. The warrant was executed today by lodging him in Hiranagar Jail under PSA.
