Samba Police arrests 2 drivers in hit & run case

SAMBA, May 21: Samba Police today arrested two drivers and seized two vehicles involved in the hit and run case.
Police said that at around 1145 hours information was received at  P/S Samba that a rash and negligent driven unknown truck hit a scooty bearing Registration Number JK21/2150 resulting in on spot death of its rider Mohan Lal, S/O Balak Ram of Addri Taloor , Samba. The truck after the accident fled from the spot.
The Police registered a case FIR No 137/2018 U/S  279 /304A RPC and investigation of the case was started by ASI Mohammed Din of P/S Samba under the supervision of SHO P/S Samba, Chanchal Singh.
The Police sent a team to Kathua and the truck was chased and recovered by PS Samba from Kathua.  The driver of the truck Showkat Ahmed Dar, S/O Abdul Rashid Dar of Phalhalan, Baramulla district in North Kashmir was arrested and investigation is going on.
In another case of hit and run falling under the jurisdiction of PS Ghagwal, SHO P/S Samba, Chanchal Singh chased and caught a rashly driven Honda Jazz of black colour having registration number JK02BX 6429 and handed over the vehicle to Police Station Ghagwal under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba, Deepak Dingra and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Anil Magotra.
