JAMMU, Nov 15: Under the leadership of Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager, Salal Power Station has been selected as the ‘Best Rated Power Station’ among all the Power Stations of NHPC Limited for the year 2017-18.
The award was given away by R K Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power and New & Renewable Energy at Faridabad.
The Award Scheme has been launched for encouraging the Power Stations to compete for better operational efficiency. The selection of the Power Station for the Award is based on many parameters like all round performance covering main aspects like Generation, Technical Inspection, Auxiliary Consumption etc. These parameters are well reflected in highest ‘Station of the Day’ cumulative count in a year provided that the Power Station has achieved the yearly cumulative PAF upto NANAPAF as fixed by CERC.
Pertinent to mention that since joining of Shekhar, Salal Power Station has achieved a number of milestones like ‘Generating 720 MW against the installed capacity of 690’, ‘Achieving Highest Ever Day’s Generation’, ‘Achieving Highest Ever Monthly Generation since commissioning in the month of July 2018’ etc.
Speaking about the achievement, Shekhar gave full credit to Team Salal. He said that no success could be obtained without team and team Salal was delivering its best by performing the assigned duties with dedication to its best ability whereas his role was limited to sheer guidance and obtaining feedbacks. He hoped that employees of Salal Power Station would continue to work with more zeal to touch new heights.
