Saffron Cricket Club registers win in 1st Patel Memorial T20 Invitational Cup

JAMMU, Apr 15: Saffron Cricket Club registered emphatic win over Simbal Wala Cricket Club by 32 runs in the ongoing 1st Patel Memorial T20 Invitational Cup, which is being played at Parade Cricket Ground here.
The Tournament is being organized by Patel Cricket under the aegis of JKCA at Parade Ground Jammu.
The event is being organized under the supervision of Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal President Patel Club and Vijay Sharma, Secretary of the Patel Club.
Rajesh Gupta, MLA Jammu East was the chief guest on the occasion, who was introduced with the participating teams of today’s match.
The chief guest also played a few cricket balls to test his cricketing skills and recall his old days of playing cricket at Parade Ground.
Batting first, Saffron Cricket Club scored 179 runs for the loss of 8 wickets  in  20 overs. Sanjeev Singh scored a brilliant century (100), while Nitin and Rahul Singh contributed 36 and 25 runs to the total. From bowling side, Vikram  and Arjun took 3 wickets each, while Sahil  claimed 1 wicket .
In reply, Simbal Wala Cricket Club managed to score 147 runs, thus lost the match by 32 runs. Mansoor top scored with 62 runs, while Vikram and Raman contributed 45 and 26 runs resepctively.
From bowling side, Sanjeev and Anil took 2 wickets each while Suraj claimed 1 wicket.
Sanjeev was adjudged as the man of the match for his all-round performance.
The match was officiated by Sudhir Singh, Amit Gupta and Rahul Kumar.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Simula Sports Club will take on KC Sports Club at 9.30 am.
