KATHUA, Jan 21: A Sadhu who was on his way from Jammu to Shapur Kandi died in a road accident at Lakhanpur near here today after his car bearing number PVO9994 was hit by a State RTC bus which was on its way from Punjab to Jammu.
The Sadhu has been identified as Yogananda who was a priest of a temple at Shahpur Kandi in Punjab. He died on spot after the bus hit the car which he was himself driving.
The driver of the SRTC bus fled after the accident but the Lakhanpur Police has seized the bus and registered a case under relevant sections of the law against the driver.
The dead body of Sadhu has been kept at District Hospital Kathua where from after the postmortem it will be handed over to his relatives and disciples for cremation tomorrow.
