SAD delegation meets Delhi MLA, Ex-VC PU

JAMMU, Feb 19: A Dele-gation of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), Jammu & Kashmir met  Manjinder Singh Sirsa, general secretary Delhi Gurud-wara Management Committee  and Member Legislative Assembly Delhi and Dr Jaspal Singh Ex- Vice Chancellor Punjabi University Patiala who visited Jammu to participate in the Gurmat Samagam in the memory of Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna at Gurudwar Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji Domana.
The delegation discussed the problems faced by the minority Sikh community in the State and apprised the visiting dignitaries about the discrimination meted out to Sikh community by the successive Governments both at the State and Centre and sought their help in finding a long lasting solution to the never ending miseries of the Sikh community of the border State.
The main issues raised by the delegation were, setting up of Minority Commission in the State, so that Sikhs along with other minorities get their due share as promised in the Constitution of India, implementation of Anand Marriage Act in the J&K State, employment package for the educated Sikh youth, permanent settlement of PoJK refugees as per the recommendations of Joint Parliamentary Committee.
The visiting Sikh personalities while expressing sympathy with the minority Sikh community of the state, promised that a meeting of State Akali Dal (Badal) will be fixed with the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president  Sukhbir Singh Badal and Union Minister  Harsimrat Kour Badal within a week and also assured that all issues concerning the community shall be brought to the notice of Central Govt and a meeting with Union Home Minister will also be fixed in this connection.
Akali Dal delegation comprised of Jathedar Mohinder Singh,  president, HS Raina, Advocate Surinder Singh,  Suchwant Singh, Surinder Singh Wazir,  Babu Singh,  Roshan Singh, Rajinder Singh Wazir and others.
