AKHNOOR, Sept 18: Inter-Panchayat Block Level Rural Sports Meet was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the supervision of Zonal Physical Association Officer, Akhnoor, here today.
The Competition was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Education Officer, Akhnoor, Suraj Singh Rathor, Zonal Education Officer and Zonal Education Planning Officer, Akhnoor.
Over 80 players drawn from different Panchayats of Akhnoor zone participated in the Competition in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Volleyball and Wrestling.
Mr Rathore while speaking on the occasion, exhorted on the importance of the sports in shaping personality of an individual.
In Volleyball, Sungral Panchayat defeated Chander Bhaga Gurah Brahmana Panchayat by (2-0) sets, while in Kabaddi, Panchayat Tragwal trounced Barui by 10 points. Gurjeet Singh and Ravi Kumar emerged winners.
