Rural areas to be developed at par with urban pockets: Lal Singh

JAMMU, Dec 17: Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh today said that Government is making all out efforts to develop all the villages of the State at par with urban pockets, adding that for this purpose instructions have been issued to the R&B, RDD, PDD, PHE, Health and Education Departments to put in concerted  efforts for providing modern line basic amenities there.
The Minister said this while interacting with people  during a public grievances redressal camp  at village Chadwal, Kathua.
Choudhary Lal Singh asserted that three regions of the State have witnessed massive development in all spheres during the current regime and said that the Government is duty bound to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State.
The Minister said that Government has taken several concrete measures to create durable infrastructure to upgrade the living standard of the rural pockets. He said Government is committed to provide all basic amenities including road connectivity, education, health, drinking water and better lanes and drains in every village of the State.
Choudhary Lal Singh said that Government is fully aware of people’s development related problems, adding that in this regard a new master plan has been prepared to meet all developmental needs particularly in rural and far-off areas of the State.
The Minister asked the officers to take up area specific   projects in   district to meet the aspirations  of the  the people and ensure modern  basic facilities. He asked them to come up with effective strategy for early completion of ongoing mega projects taken in hand in the district, adding that Government has earmarked huge funds in this regard.
Choudhary Lal Singh underlined the need for involvement of public representatives in execution of development works to ensure tangible results on  ground.
The Minister said that  Government is endeavouring hard to develop all the areas of the State with modern and need based infrastructural facilities, adding that in this regard all the departments are working in a more organized manner for ensuring better services to the people.
Responding to the demands put forth by the locals, Choudhary Lal Singh asked the concerned department to prepare DPR for construction of play ground in Chadwal village and submit the same for funding.
