THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Dec 19: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has assured rubber growers in the state of better price.
The government hs ensured that rubber growers will get better price as a result of a meeting with representatives of 12 leading tyre manufacturing companies in the country, Chandy told newspersons here last night. The scheme will be in operation from the date of notification-December 19 to March 31, 2015. The Rubber Board will continue to notify the prices of natural rubber every day based on international prices in Thailand.
Manufacturing units or their agents will purchase from dealers at notified price plus 20% premium for customs duty plus 5% Purchase Tax.
He said 50% of the Purchase Tax levied will be refunded to manufacturer every month on production of proof of purchase.
