JAMMU, July 16: SOS International, an organization of displaced persons from PoK has demanded that RSS must clarify its stand over the plight of DPs from PoK.
In a press statement here its chairman, Rajiv Chuni said that majority of the political parties have not done justice with the displaced persons from PoK during last seven decades but the attitude of Hindu organization- RSS, towards these DPs is very unfortunate and surprising. The RSS leadership should clear their stand over the plight of PoK DPs.
Chuni further said that seven decades are over since PoK DPs were forcibly thrown out from their native places. “ A incredibly horrific mass execution was carried out in PoK during tribal invasion in which thousands of PoK DPs were brutally killed, women were raped, scores of women and girls were abducted and their whereabouts are still unknown, scores of Hindus/ Sikhs were religiously converted and those who survived in that mass massacre miraculously managed to move toward this side of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. During that time in 1947, RSS played a pivotal role in Mirpur, Muzaffarabad and Poonch due to which thousands of PoK DPs were saved. But afterwards, the leadership of RSS failed to understand that under which sadistic and terrible conditions PoK DPs are forced to spend their lives in their own country,” the DPs’ leader said.
He said after 1990, RSS has been working for the cause of Valley migrants. “RSS left no stone unturned to ensure every facility at their doorsteps in the period of 27 years as it has been speaking for only one community and it hasn’t raised its concern over the plights of PoK DPs which is quite unfortunate. Whatever be the facility Valley migrants are getting today whether its monthly cash relief of Rs 10000, free ration, free accommodation, reservation to the wards of Valley migrants in technical and professional colleges across India, reservation in Government jobs and many more is due to RSSs persuasion where PoK DPs are getting nothing. RSS must clarify its stand that why it is discriminating PoK DPs vis-à-vis Valley migrants”, he added.
