JAMMU, Sept 11: RSS Seh Sarkarivah (joint general secretary) Dr Krishan Gopal who arrived here for a three days tour yesterday today visited border belt of R S Pura where some people lost their lives during unprovoked Pak shelling recently.
The RSS national leader visited the border villages of Abdullian and Sai and provided Rs one lakh relief each to the next kin of the three people who were recently killed in unprovoked Pak shelling. The Relief was provided by him on behalf of J&K Sahita Samiti (JKSS).
Dr Krishan Gopal during his visit to border belt of RS Pura was accompanied by Utter Kashtriya Pracharak, RSS Prem Kumar, Prant Sangh Chalak Brig (retd) Suchet Singh, Prant Pracharak Ramesh Pappa  and other leaders of the Sangh in the State.
Dr Gopal also met the bereaved families and assured them all help and support. He highly appreciated the role of people living along the LoC and Border belt in the State saying that they are first line defense ring to repulse the enemy attack.
Saluting the border people for their valour and courage, he said entire nation is solidly behind them and their sacrifices will never go waste.
Earlier Dr Gopal convened a meeting of various sister organizations of the Sangh including VHP, BD, Kissan Sangh, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and BJP to discuss the prevailing situation in the State with them and also seek a feed back on some vital issues.
According to sources the levying of Service Tax on the pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi and other shrines was also discussed and VHP and other organizations expressed their concern over the decision.
The prevailing political situation and unprovoked firing from across the border was also discussed during the meeting.
The BJP leaders who attended the meeting included Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, former State president and MLC Ashok Khajuria, Sat Sharma (CA) and Rajesh Gupta MLAs and Ramesh Arora MLC besides the representatives of VHP and BD etc.
